Württemberg wines are as singular as the people of Württemberg. With passion, hard work, experience, a cosmopolitan outlook and a delight in experimenting, Württemberg wine growers have succeeded over the last hundred years in cultivating more different grape varieties and developing more speciality wines than any other German wine-growing region: fne fresh wines and intense full-bodied wines – wines for every day or for very special occasions.
Not only important inventions such as the car, Maultasche (Swabian ravioli) or mass-produced bras come from here – many of Germany’s best restaurants can be found in Württemberg, the land of connoisseurs.
Württemberg is synonymous not only with traditional red wines, such as Trollinger, which are typical of the region, but also for outstanding red wine cuvées, deep red Lemberger and superb white wines. The best sites are found on the Neckar between Esslingen and Gundelsheim and on its tributaries, the Rems, Murr, Sulm, Kocher, Jagst, Zaber, Lein and Enz as well as in the Tauber valley. The best that Württemberg has to offer often grows here on steep slopes. Wines whose taste, colour and aroma will win over connoisseurs – domestically as well as internationally.
