Nestled between the Mosel and Rhine valleys, the Nahe is named after the river that traverses the forested Hunsrück Hills as it gently flows towards Bingen on the Rhine. Volcanic eruptions and powerful earth movements stirred up the subsoil along the Nahe so much that over 180 different soil formations were left over.
Characterised by this ideal-typical terroir, combined with the skills of the “true originals”, truly great wines are created here. Most of the white varieties are Riesling, Rivaner, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The red wines are largely Pinot Noir and Dornfelder.
